Sept 17th thru Sept 30th

Sept 17th--  Ryan has mellowed a little now and is happy and hungry!  The nurses said the medicine he gets tonight will probably make him sick.  I don't think MB and Gary are looking forward to it since MB said he is eating a lot today.  He has now lost all his hair and discovered it yesterday.  He looked in the mirror and yelled and hit MB saying that she gave him a bad haircut.  MB said he has been nice to the nurses today and let them do the tests. While I was on the phone with her I heard Ryan tell a nurse to get him some pop corn.  MB said he thinks he is like a King and can order everyone around.  You have to love his feisty spirit!!!!!

Sept 18th-- Sounds like everyone is doing real good lately.  MB, Gary, Ryan, and Kim all seem  good the last few days.   I think everyone is starting to get into a routine now.  Some good news came back today.  MB said that Ryan's counts were real good this morning and if they continue to climb he will get to go home tomorrow rather then Monday.  Mom went to see him with the camera this morning so I hope to get it back and post some new pictures of him later today.  One of the doctors bought in some Pokeman cards for Ry so he is really starting to like the doctors and nurses.  MB said they have all been great at the hospital .  During Gary's break from the hospital yesterday  he even got to go beanie shopping which I know thrills him!

Sept 20th--- Ryan got home from the hospital yesterday.   He is extremely happy to be back in his own home and surroundings.  He is doing great!  He actually has nothing other then the daily shot  Gary gives him until Thursday.  Even then he just goes in for lab work as an outpatient.  Next week he will have a preliminary CAT-scan to see what is happening with the tumor, but for the next week or so things should hopefully be real quiet.

Sept 22nd-  Ry had a quiet day yesterday relaxing at the house and playing with Pop-Pop.  Early this morning he started throwing up again so they had to take him to the hospital at around 4 this morning.   They gave him some anti-nausea medicine to stop it and he seems to be fine now.  It looks like he might have to be at the hospital a couple days while they monitor him and give him the medicine, but apparently it is nothing to worry about.   Hopefully he will be able to come home tomorrow.

Sept 24th-   Sorry I missed the update yesterday. Ryan got released yesterday from the hospital and is like a new kid now that he is in his own surroundings.  He had to have another transfusion   before being released and his counts are dropping again.  He is scheduled to go back in Saturday for more blood tests and possibly another transfusion on an outpatient basis.  It looks like if anyone could donate blood in Ryan's name it would help the cause.  I don't know the details on how to go about doing this, but as soon as I can find out I will post how to go about giving blood in his name.

Sept 25th-  Thank you everyone for your emails about giving blood in Ryan's name.  He is on his way to the hospital now for more blood tests and possible transfusion.  MB was going to try to look into how it works for everyone up north in giving blood in Ryan's name.  She seems to think she won't be able to find out until the beginning of next week with it being Saturday today.  As soon as I hear any details about Ryan's test today or about the giving of blood I'll post it to the site.   Thanks.

Sept 27th--  Ryan has had a quiet couple of days.  He ended up having a transfusion on Saturday and has a bunch of outpatient tests scheduled for this week so it should be a real hectic one.  He has tests Tuesday Thursday and Friday of this week.  One of them is a Cat-Scan to see if the what the tumor has done so far.  We are still waiting to hear back from the doctor about the donating of blood.   SORRY ABOUT LACK OF UPDATES.  SERVER WAS DOWN.

Sept 28th-  Ryan's counts are real low again.  Today and tomorrow should be quiet and then Thursday is a big day.   On Thursday he will be having his preliminary CAT-Scan to see what the tumor is doing.  Please see the note about giving blood

Sept 30th--  Ryan had the tests this morning and then just stopped by the store.   He looks great and was in a great mood.   They hopefully will hear back tomorrow about the results of the tests.   He goes back in tomorrow for another scan.   His blood count has started to rise so that is great news.  As soon as his count his high enough (probably Thursday next week) he will begin the next phase of chemo.
